Evidence for a Creator | Part A

One strategic way we can help people exploring faith or new to their faith is to remove obstacles to belief. What people hear in school and throughout our culture is that anything supernatural is just a fairy tale. Those promoting this view hope we won’t recognize their wrong assumptions or question things they can’t explain. “Evidence for a Creator” gives us examples that show how the Lord has left His fingerprints throughout Creation. This presentation examines the cosmos, the molecular world, things the Bible knew before Science, Bible prophecy, Biblical archeology, and the history of the Jewish people. Future presentations will highlight God’s work in other areas of Creation.

LEADERSHIP STUDIES

The Mission – Workshop

Every week we hear stories from people whose lives have been changed by God in dramatic ways. In each case, God worked through others to help these people along. And in many cases we have been privileged to be a part.

So what does it look like for us to help people walk with God? How do we – the people of Port City Community Church – work together to make disciples of Jesus? This 5-hour workshop takes you behind the scenes and gives you the broad perspective on our approach to discipleship. Some of the questions we cover include:

What is a disciple?
What is discipleship at Port City Community Church?
What does it mean to “train myself and others to be trained by Christ”?
Who is Jesus?
How do we help people who are at different places in their walk? And what resources does Port City Community Church provide?

Small Group Leader Training

Small groups are our primary discipleship environment and are primarily for discipleship. Small groups are also community, where people carry each other’s burdens, rejoice in personal victories, encourage one another in times of need, and persevere through difficult stretches in the life of the group. This training provides you with Biblical principles to help you build Christ-centered community; to lead and support the people within your care. Small Group Leader Training is required for leaders of Port City Small Groups.

The Character of a Leader | Leadership Essentials

Your leadership is needed! In every sector of society, from families to businesses to churches, leadership roles remain empty, waiting for people willing and able to step up and make wise decisions that bring positive change. And, in a world with priorities vastly different from Christ’s, Christian leaders are especially needed to point people to him. Through this study you will be equipped not just with head knowledge about leadership but with true character formation and awareness of your own abilities that will prepare you for the challenges and choices of leadership.

Sending

For each person going to serve on the mission field, senders are also needed back home. Senders play an equally important role in missions by providing the ‘goers’ with moral, logistical, financial, prayer, communication, and re-entry support. At PC3 we have created a Sending Ministry to help connect those at home with those going to serve on the mission field. Romans 10:13-15 makes it clear that both ‘goers’ and ‘senders’ are necessary to fully complete our mission. We would like to have senders serve on each short-term mission team for the purposes of helping with logistics, communication, praying for the team, encouraging them, sending them off, and helping them return.

This training prepares ‘Senders’ to contribute in this most valuable way.
