Ripple Effect is Port City Community Church’s high school ministry. We don’t believe teenagers are just the future of the church – we believe they ARE the church! Our goal is to reach students and partner with their families to help them walk with God and impact their world. As a part of Ripple Effect, each student should realize who God is, who they were created to be by Him, and how they can take the next step in their faith.
What We Value
We give students the opportunity to examine and strengthen their faith with the people that they go to school with. Every Sunday night students go to a group set in their school district to take part in relationship, worship, encouraging messages as well as small group conversations. All of this is done in an environment that students get to make their own. This lets them create a time and place that they look forward to every week. Ripple Effect deals with issues and questions facing high school students and gives them the foundation they need to move into the next phase of life with confidence and compassion.
What to Expect
Ripple Effect is comprised of two different parts, the first of which is called Community Groups. In Community Groups students meet at houses all over the city, specific to their school, where they engage in an environment created by students and for students. They have time to hang out, hear a teaching, and split into small groups to share thoughts and questions. This is a great way for students to grow in faith with the people that they see every day. The second part happens one week out of the month— its the part we actually call “Ripple Effect”. All of our Community Groups gather together at the church for a worship service that your student will not want to miss. There is time to hang out, play games, worship, and hear a teaching that prepares them for the coming month. Take a look at the calendar above for more specifics and details.
